Today's dog poisoner might be tomorrows workplace shooter or child abuser. "Some of the most notorious serial killers--Ted Bundy, the Son of Sam, Jeffrey Dahmer--they all has histories of animal abuse," says Frederic Reamer, a professor at the Rhode Island College School of Social Work and author of Heinous Crime: Cases, Causes and Conseqiences.
Suzanne Conboy-Hill, a psychologist, said: “Research in the United States shows that often people who have been imprisoned for violent or sadistic crime have also confessed to carrying out cruel acts against animals.”
